Terms of service

These terms are between you and [MEDIAQUEST LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“we”), of [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Using mbz2scorm means you accept them.

1. What the service does

You upload a Moodle course backup. We read it, show you a report of what can and cannot be converted, build a SCORM 1.2 package from the parts that can, and let you play the finished course before deciding whether to buy it.

We also run free tools that do not require an account and upload nothing.

2. What converts, and what we do not promise

SCORM cannot represent everything Moodle does, and no converter can change that. A SCORM package runs for one learner with no server behind it. Forums, assignments, wikis, workshops, group activities and gradebook logic all need something a package does not have.

We tell you exactly what will be dropped or degraded, per activity, with the reason, before you pay — and you can play the finished course first. That report is the promise. We do not warrant that a converted course is equivalent to the original, or that it will suit a purpose you have not told us about.

We also do not warrant that a package will be accepted by any particular LMS. We build to the SCORM 1.2 specification and validate against it; individual systems have their own quirks, and testing in your target LMS remains your step.

3. Your content, and your right to it

Your course stays yours. We claim no ownership of anything you upload and no licence to it beyond what is needed to convert it and give it back.

By uploading, you confirm you hold the rights to the content, including any third-party material inside it, and that converting it does not breach anyone else’s rights or your own licences. If you do not hold those rights, do not upload it.

If your backup contains learner personal data, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to send it to us. Our privacy policy explains how we handle it, and the export guide shows you how to leave it out entirely — which is what we would prefer.

We do not train any machine learning model on your content.

4. What you may not do

5. Paying

Converting a course and playing the result are free. You pay to download the package. Prices are shown before you commit, and payment is handled by Stripe — we never see your card details.

Credits do not expire. A failed conversion never consumes a credit.

Because you see the full report and can play the entire finished course before paying, we do not normally refund a completed download. If something has genuinely gone wrong, tell us — we would rather fix it than argue about it.

6. How long we keep things

Your uploaded backup is deleted after 7 days. Your built package is available for 30 days. After that you can re-upload the same course and rebuild it, free, because you have already paid for that conversion.

Download your package. Do not treat us as where it lives. We are a converter, not a storage service.

7. Compliance is yours, not ours

Some of what we publish concerns continuing education credit — how question counts and durations feed the calculations awarding bodies use. That is information, not advice.

We are not your registry adviser, and nothing we produce is a compliance opinion. Whether a course qualifies for credit, and how much, remains your determination as sponsor. What we undertake is narrower and more useful: to carry the underlying numbers across accurately, and to tell you plainly when something has not survived.

8. Availability

We will try to keep the service running and will not be careless about it, but we do not offer an uptime guarantee. We may change or withdraw features. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice so you can retrieve anything you still need.

9. Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data, or lost opportunity, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.

Keep your own copies of your courses. We are a converter, and a backup is your responsibility.

10. Ending it

You can stop using the service whenever you like, and ask us to delete your records. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, and will say why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will say so here and update the date above. A change does not apply retroactively to a conversion you have already paid for.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], and the courts of [STATE] have exclusive jurisdiction, except that nothing prevents you from bringing a claim where you live if consumer law where you live gives you that right.
